Back Yard Swing Project

Laura is settling in.

Finished! Trying it out!

Fastening the bolts down tight. Seat is already in place.

Just about ready to put on the seat cusions. No slivers in those bare feet yet!

Favorite beverage.

Another consulation with the instructions. The swing is starting to look like a swing.

Laura in front of the camera for a change. Instead of behind it. Here she is ready with the screw drivers.

Putting the cover in place.

Time out for a little refreshment..green tea, of course!

This turned out to be the "roof" of the swing...

Katie bestows a blessing on the project.

Hmm...where does this go?

Getting ready to attach the seat,

A week later, the project resumes..

No, I have absolutely no idea what was going on here.

Was there a mistake with washer A or washer B?

This part was not as complicated as it seemed.

The swing is coming along! Here the seat is getting ready to be attached.

Hmm..part A goes into part D?

Sometime in here I got a sliver in my foot. Next project....sand down the rough places in the deck. There are always new ones in the spring.

Looks like good exercise. Actually, soon after this Laura put the camera down and helped carry the frame down the stairs to the backyard.

Okay, so I didn't really NEED my reading glasses on to move this thing..

Time to move the swing frame to the back deck before it gets too large to move.

Katie is good at seeing how these things should go together. Here she does a great job screwing.

Reading the directions is good. This was about the time Katie got bitten on her foot by an ant in the garage. Time to spray those darn ants again.

The swing gets started. Katie is assembling the bottom braces.
